6/5 stars. Incredible atmosphere, food quality, price point to quality ratio, drinks, service. Just not a weak point in the entire experience. You must come here. Brunch is probably also stunning but we came here for dinner. Indoors is pretty small so shoot for outdoors if you can.

The outdoors is gorgeous with real grape vines laced through the upper wood trellis, and a quaint blue theme contrasting with the wood. Obviously it’s not the most ergonomic but again, not the point.

The menu is very sustainable and actually also gluten free sort of by accident (it’s intentional) since the entire experience focuses on corn as the “bread-like” base for dishes that need it.

Unique hand-made ceramic dishes. Insanely good flavors on top of them. Not a weak item on the whole menu. Really photogenic plating as you can see, as well. The duck (mole negro) is a highlight for sure. And don’t miss the tuna appetizer of the heirloom tomatoes and goat cheese in the salad.

I could make a small note that a couple of dishes probably rely too much on the same dough bases, but the whole point is to make authentic food that relies on a smaller base of inspirational ingredients so that’s hardly a weakness (it’s just that flavors blend together on this if you try enough of the different dishes, which you can with a group; which we suggest). In that way you’re obviously not going to find anything that strays too far from Mexican inspirations, so don’t come expecting to get French food— but as long as you’re on the same page as Claro, you WILL have a great time.
